Garden Pictures 2010 (Set 1)

Here are a few shots of Cayuga Ridge Estate’s vineyards and the family garden (from where we source many of our ingredients). Ah, what we have to look forward to in the glass and on our wood fired pizzas in the weeks to come!

Wood Fired Pizza – Fresh From The Garden

MJ was in the garden this morning picking all kinds of fresh good stuff… Not sure yet how that’ll change the menu. Come by and see/eat. Yum!

PS – Best of luck to all of the triathletes participating in today’s Cayuga Lake Triathlon. Y’all rock!

Our Hours This Weekend!

admin | June 5th, 2010 - 9:31 am

Tomorrow, Sunday, June 6th is garden planting day. So come visit us today if you want that wood fired goodness.

Yes, that’s right, we won’t be open tomorrow (you can thank us later for the homegrown arugula and tomatoes that will be on our pizzas this summer).

And to the poor souls who came all the way to Cayuga Ridge for wood fired pizza yesterday and found out that we are only open on the weekends right now (sorry), we hope you come back soon. For the inconvenience, we promise a special discount just for you.

PS – How do you like our new colors?

Preparing The Garden

Here are a few pictures of Mary Jane’s dad (Tom Challen) prepping this year’s garden. Check out the crazy light in this first shot…

Talk about local ingredients. The majority of our tomatoes and greens will come from this exactly this spot (which is less than a 5 minute walk to where the oven is regularly parked at Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery).

We have a lot to be thankful for on this Memorial Day. Without Mary Jane’s parents (Tom and Susie Challen) The Copper Oven and many of the tasty ingredients on our wood fired pizzas simply would not be.

Quote Of The Day

"We are only just a generation removed from Taylor Wine Company and that era. It’s still just a bunch of farmers making wine in their garages." (Kim Engle, Winegrower and owner of Bloomer Creek Vineyard, Speaking with James Molesworth on a recent visit to the Finger Lakes.)
