Between the race at Watkins Glen and the Riesling Festival in Canandaigua, there’s lots going on this weekend in the Finger Lakes. If you happen to be on the Cayuga Wine Trail, please stop by and say hello.
Wood Fired Pizza
Sunny Side Up Pizza – As usual, we start this pie with a base of homemade creme fraiche from local cows (I know, right?) and then give it a few slices of sweet sausage from Autumn Harvest Farm in Romulus, NY. After that we add a three cheese blend. Then some onion scapes (from the garden). And – living up to its name – we top this pizza off with a farm fresh egg! [$12.00]
The 26 Mile Pizza – Back by popular demand, we call this one the 26 mile pizza because 100% of its toppings are locally sourced (within 26 miles of where our wood fired oven sits). We start it with a base of locally sourced caramelized onions and chevre from Lively Run. And when we’re done firing it, we finish this pizza with a drizzle of Butternut Squash Seed Oil from our friends at Stony Brook WholeHearted Foods. [$11.00]
Wine
Try the Cayuga Ridge Estate Riesling (which recently won Germany’s Best Riesling of the New World 2010 award) or your favorite red or white.
By the glass [$6.00]
Best of luck to all Musselman Triathletes this weekend! Same goes for all those braving this weekend’s Finger Lakes Wine Festival.

If you haven’t stopped by Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery lately, then you might not be aware of everything we’ve been doing to prepare for opening weekend (May 14th and 15th) and our 2nd season on the Cayuga Wine Trail.
Here are a couple of highlights…
We’ve Got You Covered – Thanks to the incredible work of our construction coordinator, Tom Challen, and his dedicated construction crew, work to cover the deck will be completed by the end of this week. Translation? You get to enjoy our wood fired grub rain or shine all season long.
Pizza, Wine and Sarah’s Patisserie – Yep. That’s right! When you stop by for Pizza and Wine don’t forget to leave room for treats from Sarah’s Pattiserie. While we won’t carry everything that you can get at the Ithaca store, we promise that whatever we have from Sarah’s will be, um, ridiculously fabulous and a perfect end to wood fired pizza on the deck.
How cool…
A customer walked in today and mentioned that he read about us in one of the most widely read pizza trade magazines, Pizza Today.
So we came home, looked ourselves up and found the following:
Thank you Pizza Today.
Not sure who had more fun yesterday: Cayuga Wine Trail Vistors or the Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery team… Here are a few pictures from the Halloween 2010 celebration.
Best costume? Leave a comment.
A portion of today’s wood fired pizza sales will go to support breast cancer. Please stop by Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery for wine and pie.
